One last visit before Jessica & Mike have their baby
or as Paul noted, “I’m like a lady, but really a boy still.”
outdoor dinner- picnic style
tofu tacos with Melissa & Jeremy
with an after dinner magic show
a baby girl sitting up on her own without tipping over
and the only “kerfuffle” of the last two days:
hanging out in Charlynn’s kitchen
eating peach popsicles
letting the kids take pictures with the camera (this is Zachary capturing Paul)
carrying blankets and pillows to the park
and watching the Muppet Movie for free outside.
it’s like a water bed/water slide combo
filled with water
using duct tape
and a plastic tarp
add food coloring
glitter or gummy bears optional
which adds to the fun
but they also just practiced running, jumping, rolling, and sliding
a tiny container of beads
a little counting
one patient Grammy
and voila! instant jewelry:
bracelets and necklaces.
The rocks are a balancing act
while the creatures are a test of courage.
There is so much to explore
that it all feels a bit like an outdoor classroom.
Bonus: it is a ten minute drive from my doorstep.
is the best way to describe mommahood.
As I see two brothers growing up side by side
in healthy competition
as they push eachother
and play together.
I delight in the fearless nature of Henry
and the cautious disposition of Paul.
The cherry on top is the sister,
who is the unexpected delight of being a baby girl we all surround to adore.
