Ten years ago we stood in front of our friends and family to commit ourselves to one another.

I look at the picture and can feel the youthful excitement of marriage and a life as Mrs. Sullivan.

We are blessed to share this life together.

To celebrate we ate at a sushi place in Little Toyko called Shojin, while friends watched our little ones.

I felt compelled to buy this dish towel as a gift that so appropriately expresses my love 

(joe trumps all love of burritos in my book)

and am always surprised at how thoughtful my grandpa is with picking out and mailng cards.

I am looking forward to the next decade.

most of the time I can’t see it between the three of them.

Today I see it:

their expressions remind me of their father

(here, Olivine has a bit of Joe’s smug/sarcastic eyes),

funny, strange, and usually spontaneous

and the boys sit like Joe, with their seemingly long legs.

Similar in small ways yet each, very individual.

The combinations of our genes are fascinating.

to be away for a ten hour stretch today.

to miss breakfast with all these faces.

to sit in training while there are adventures at the library.

to know a baby girl is one of the boys while momma is away.

to only see photos of my boy Paul riding along side his papa.

(papa in the street and a big boy on the sidewalk).

We needed to move all three babies into one room, especially with the heat and our mini air conditioner has been in the boy’s room for cooling down.

In our room baby couldn’t be swaddled and nobody has been sleeping well. So tonight all three are in one room and tomorrow I officially head back to work, we are in the midst of transition.

We opted for a lower bunk bed, although I am attracted to bunk beds that separate into two beds. I am happy to report that Henry was excited to sleep in a “big boy bed” and Paul wants to touch the celing.

Tonight Olivine had her first bite of food

like her brothers- she will eat avocados, bananas, apple and pear sauce 

before moving onto carrots, spinach, and the whole wide adventures of eating.

One more marker of time for a baby that I can’t keep tiny.

So Kylie is one today…

Olivine is six months

and my cousin David’s baby is 3 months…

her hair is amazing!

Papa turned 34 today and in his honor we

packed a full day.

We went to the Discovery Science Center

dinosaur hunted

drank lavendar lattes

enjoyed the shade

cooling off

before bed.

before we knew we were having a baby girl Joe decided to buy some oil cloth to update our highchair

almost a year has gone by

and last night he finally did it!

A present for our baby girl who will be eating food now, any day!
