Going to Grandma’s House

A fair amount of driving to head to San Diego

IMG_1917

but worth it to see a Grandma who is still hanging in there.

IMG_1918

We always take dessert and flowers as presents

IMG_1906

and this time we actually stayed the night.

IMG_1921There was a definite love fest going on

IMG_1924

while these two played ball (boys were playing with the dog in the backyard).

IMG_1930So glad we visited.

Wonder

Where did the moon jellies come from?

IMG_1850

Why are they in the lagoon?

IMG_1838

How long will they be visiting?

IMG_1843

Where did my little baby go?

IMG_1832

Why can’t spring break be longer?

For You

Thank you for the gift card to Chuck E. Cheese (a thoughtful gift from my grandpa at Christmas- a family gift)

IMG_1770

We have never been

IMG_1783

and I can admit it wasn’t crowded and I was still overstimulated.

IMG_1776

Joe on the other hand, spent a great deal of time at skee ball, which is where all the tickets came from.

IMG_1790

We met up with friends

IMG_1788

and ate pizza and played and ran around without shoes (really??) to climb up into these tunnels.IMG_2583

Olivine played a couple gamesIMG_2591

but had just as much fun stacking the coin cups.IMG_1791

We are pooped!

Before Dinner

a quick clean of the boy’s art area with two bags of trash

IMG_1796

four bags of books and magazines for donating

IMG_1797

and a new collage for Paul’s room of his recent creations.

IMG_1798

Everyone kept busy while I cooked

IMG_1802

reading in the sunlight

IMG_1801

climbing stairs

IMG_1800

checking laundry
IMG_1806and then washing up.

IMG_1757He seriously made cream cheese, tofu, veggie, goat cheese and strawberry, and pizza wontons for dinner while little ones jumped into jammies early.

Loss

In the midst of all this celebrating I will pause to say that my family in Kentucky is mourning the loss of my cousin. She is the same age as me, with two children, and her death was sudden. My prayers are with them this morning as they bury her.

IMG_1668

Paul loves some of the same songs I love about God and his promises. He is our comfort in these moments.

C’est Tout

all the eggs have been found

IMG_2474

at Grandpa Royce and Grandma Cheryl’s

IMG_1733

even the ones that seemed impossible

at church

IMG_2546

with friends

IMG_2553

and the final count

IMG_2555is way too many.

IMG_1735But we had lots of fun and that’s what counts.

Egg Hunt

outdoorsIMG_1709

rather than in our living room

IMG_1699

wearing pajamas

IMG_1713

and bunny ears.

IMG_1681It felt early at 8 am.

IMG_2408

Enough space so that

IMG_1706

they could runIMG_1715

and cheerIMG_1716

and play.

IMG_1727I was thrilled the finger puppets were a hit.

IMG_1729

We went home for breakfast.

IMG_2397

Egg-cellent!

Painting on salt dough
